The overall production throughput for both companies is 600 drums/hour. As a subsidiary of Alexandria Company for Metal Industries and Trade, the company is well grounded in the manufacturing of metal containers, especially large-capacity drums. Alexandria Company for Metal Industries and Trade was established in 1944 with the purpose of producing steel drums for oil and military purposes, under the name of a Dutch company, Overseas Containers Company. In the period of 1962-2000 the company was a subsidiary of the Holding Company for Engineering Industries, a Ministry of Industry public sector company. In August 2000, El-Fath International Group has purchased the company under the Egyptian Privatization Program. In January 2003, the new fully automated production line has been established under the name of El-Fath Free Zone Company for Industry with capacity of 300 drums/hour. The line is located in Alexandria Free Zone. The new line was equipped with French equipment and with technical support from MAUSER of France.
